09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Hartford, CT Nathan is a 2024 OF/RHP prospect with an athletic frame at 5'8" 175 pounds. In the OF, he shows off active, quick feet and agile range to all angles. He gets in a squared fielding position and presents his hands out in front while catching high. He moves well and displays some rhythm at the position. He makes accurate throws with a quick release and shows off some good arm strength, recording a raw velo of 85 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance and gets a good load back. He keeps his balance centered through contact and lets his lower half work. He stays on-plane with his swing and squares the ball up consistently with a middle-oppo approach. On the mound, he throws from a side-arm slot and features a 3-pitch mix, showing good feel for the strike zone with his offerings. He gets on-time separation and has a quick arm action with good extension through his release point. He stays squared to the plate with his delivery and has a smooth, controlled landing. His FB has some arm side run and has some depth/sink while pairing well with his right to left slider break. His CH mimics his FB and he is able to tunnel all three pitches. Nathan is an exciting prospect that we will definitely be keeping an eye on during his senior year of high school!

02/18/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Nathan is an OF/3B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add strength throughout. In the OF, showed active feet, with good agility, and ability to cover ground in all directions. Fields from a square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and fields out front. Works behind/through the baseball with a clean gather off left foot. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and arm velocity up to 81mph into infield. In the infield, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and ability to make routine plays. Fields from a square fielding position with a clean transfer. Showed a good glove angle with his eyes behind his glove. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Center balance at contact point, with a flat barrel path, and ability to get extended out front. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. With another year of development, we see this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/02/2022 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) with Video Showcase Nathan continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities and did so at the All-Region tournament. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line with carry through his target. Long tossing can help Nathan build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and takes his stride on time. He gets into his load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a direct swing with good extension and drives the ball from gap to gap. Nathan can create more consistent contact by loosening his grip on the bat. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
