06/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - New Britain (Hartford), CT Nathan worked out in the OF and at 2nd base during his last workout with The Factory. In the OF, Nathan has fluid footwork, he reads the ball well off the bat, and he covers ground well. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and Nathan throws with consistency from a quick arm action to his target. In the INF, Nathan has playable hands and feet and he fields in a square position. He has a good glove, a clean exchange, and he throws with consistency to his target. At the plate, Nathan has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in with good balance. He has good barrel accuracy and he taps into his lower body. Skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Play lower
2. Hands
3. Release
Infield
1. Fielding position
2. Release
3. Range
Offense
1. Load
2. Bat speed
3. Bat angle

07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Nate is a young, coachable OF who will graduate in 2024. Defensively, Nate has active feet, agile movements to the ball, and he attacks aggressively. He presents his glove well, fields in an athletic position, and throws with accuracy from a quick arm action to his target. A quicker 1st step and not drifting to the ball will help defense improve. Offensively, Nate has a square/athletic setup, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, a short/direct barrel to the ball, and he can spray to all fields. Added bat speed and strength will help hitting continue to improve. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
