03/13/2016 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Nathan has really improved all of his baseball tools since the last time that we saw him. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.43 runner. Behind the plate, he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.19. He works in line, gaining ground as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills now show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he only showed as a RHH but has improved his hitting / power potential. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works on time and creates torque with baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

03/29/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Ashburn (DC), VA Nathan is a talented 2-way player as a C/OF. With the bat, this switch hitter currently shows a little more natural from the left side. He has an open stance with good balance. Swing path is level to and through the zone as he connects and hits line-drives. Behind the dish, Nathan sits in well with athletic actions. He gains ground toward 2B on throws down with pop times at 2.44. In the OF, he is aggressive and hustles into posit behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands and has a quick/clean exchange to throw. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Front foot timing
2. Contact points
Catching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Blocking
Outfield
1. Routes/Angles
2. Crow-hop

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
