01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Nathan is an athletic SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. In the field, Nathan shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with life through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Nathan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/28/2020 - Winter Pro Training Experience - TX (HS) Nathan is an athletic SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. At the Pro Training event he would immediately impress scouts with his readiness and overall energy, these are great attributes he needs to continue to show in his game. In the infield, he showed great agility, quickness, and feel for his position. This on top of a very accurate 83 mph arm velocity will help boost him to the next level in his career. Not only did he shine at short, Nathan posted well above average ratings in not only hitting but his power as well. This was displayed through his loose hands, simple load, and controlled rhythm. As he gets into the weight room a little more, we project Nathan will do special things in his career.

10/25/2020 - All-In Membership - Corpus Christi, TX Nathan is a skilled, LHH SS who can make things happen. Defensively, he has active prep and works lightly on the balls of his feet. He moves well right to left into an athletic fielding position, presents his glove and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. Transfer is quick/clean with carry/accuracy on his throws across the diamond. With the bat, this lefty shows an athletic/open stance with quiet/simple actions. He has smooth rhythm to load, swings on a short/direct path and squares the ball up with pop, hitting line-drives back up the middle of the field. Garza is a talented MIF prospect who has a ton of upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
