12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Nathan is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, Nathan takes a good first step and fields in an athletic position. He makes a two-handed exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good backspin through his target. Fielding the ball out in front of his body can help Nathan improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a centered stride. He takes a smooth swing path and produces loud contact to all fields. Nathan can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Nathan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Nathan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 64mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 52-54mph with 11-5 break. Nathan can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With four more years to develop, Nathan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
