Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Nathan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through with his body. Hands are firm and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-70 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Nathan is solid RHP/3B in the 2026 class. On the mound, he is a strong athlete who uses his lower half well. He can pound the zone with his 3-pitch mix and especially can spot his FB to both sides of the plate. His FB topped at 72 with sinking actions. His CB sat 52-8 with 11-5 shape and with keeping his Fb delivery and relying on his grip, it can become an out pitch for him. His CH sat 61-4 and has deception with his FB arm speed. At the plate, he has an inside out swing path with a quiet load and small head movement. He stays inside his feet well and creates hard contact. Uses the middle of the middle well with line drive production. Nathan has a good feel for the 3B position and his arm strength (72 velo) plays well. Uses a high ¾ slot and makes good feeds on his double play turns. Overall, Nathan has a lot of good baseball ahead of him and should turn into a fine contributor at the high school level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
