01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nathan is a tall 6ft 1/160 SS/RHP in the 2025 class. In the outfield, he has all the intangibles. He shows plus speed (6.6 runner) and covers his defensive zone well. Arm is strong and can play all three spots at a high level. He gains athletic movements and works behind the baseball. His exchanges are quick and he can redirect the ball back to the dirt with precision to prevent the extra 90’s.On the mound, he was equally impressive. He works downhill and throws strikes. His FB sat 81-3 and worked both sides of the plate. His Breaking pitch shaped 11-5 and had tight spin at 66-8. At the plate, he shows solid line drive production with juice in his bat (85 exit velo). His hands are fast and under control and he gets his barrel into the zone with a direct path. Gets his front foot down to create excellent timing and pitch recognition. Showed well in games with 2 hits and 2 SB’s. Overall, Nathan is a great athlete and looks to have a bright future on the diamond.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nathan is an athletic, strong SS who showed as a top prospect at the Pre-Season All American Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (90 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.20 60 time) in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. At the plate, he shows excellent hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing (84 mph exit velocity) with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Nathan has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
