06/02/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West This athletic OF shows a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way as he covers a lot of ground (6.99 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (87 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power (87 mph exit velocity), driving to all parts of the field.

10/05/2016 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Nathan's development trend is very exciting and is quickly making him into a can't miss prospect for the next level. He improves each time he attends events and this event is no different. He has increased his arm strength leading to a 5 mph boost in his raw velocity and his swing continues to improve, now showing power he didn't previously have. At the dish, he has great hands that work through the zone quickly and aggressively to the ball, generating excellent bat speed and consistent, square contact. He is smooth throughout his swing with good weight transfer that generates power from his lower half and a level path that lead to hard hit line drives. In the field, he shows natural instincts working to the ball with active feet and fielding with momentum to his target. His athleticism leads to extended range and his strong arm makes him a natural fit for either 3B or OF. Working on fielding the ball out front will be the last step to becoming a complete defender. Nathan's quick development and excellent tools make him an exciting prospect for the next level.

02/07/2016 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Nathan is a very talented 2-way prospect as a 3B/OF. With the bat, this righty displays an athletic setup with centered balance. He whips the barrel on a level path to and through the zone, squaring the ball up and driving the gaps. At 3B, Nathan has active prep and moves fluidly around the GB from right to left. He funnels smoothly and has a quick/clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he gets good jumps and tracks down fly-balls hit to his right and left with speed. He has a smooth transfer and fires strong/accurate throws into his target. Nathan has a very bright future ahead of him in the game. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Extension through contact
Infield
1. Lower fielding position (work from the ground-up)
2. Footwork on flow roller
Outfield
1. First step
2. Play through ball

08/21/2015 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Nate is a talented 2-way player 3B/RHP who can swing it. Offensively, this righty has a balanced/athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is quick as he takes an aggressive hack and drives the ball with power. He will be a run producer and sprays the ball to all parts of the field. At 3B, Nate works around the GB as he presents his glove and fields the ball out in front. He has a clean exchange and makes strong/accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm works live & loose as he drives downhill off of the rubber and repeats his delivery. He pounds the zone and throws strikes consistently. Splitter has drop and proves to be a solid out pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Let ball travel
Defense
1. Play through ball
2. Lateral footwork
Pitching
1. Off-speed
2. Finish with extension

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
