12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Neuhoff continues to work hard and develop his skills on the diamond. He is a high energy guy who gives it all he has every day and leaves it all on the field. At SS, Nathan has active prep footwork and takes good angles around the GB. He has a clean exchange with some carry on his throws. Continuing to develop more lateral quickness will help him to progress as aa SS. At the plate, he has a square setup with good balance and coordination of hips/hands. He stays through the ball and drives it to all parts of the field. Learning to use his lower 1/2 consistently and adding more extension will allow him to start adding some gap power to his offensive game. A gamer - this 2017 grad has skills with still a ton of time to develop.

12/20/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Nathan showed at SS and on the mound for the first time. Currently, he projects best at SS for the next level. At SS, feet are active as he displays proper footwork in working to square balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Throws are accurate, but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program and needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows an squared setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-69 mph Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

11/17/2013 - College PREP - Germantown (Memphis), TN Nathan is a skilled SS who has talent. Offensively, this righty displays a crouched stance with good rhythm, getting back into a loaded position. He gets the barrel through the zone quickly and hits the ball on a line. Extension through contact will help to increase pop off of his barrel. At SS, he works into a low fielding position and presents his glove, fielding the ball out in front. He gathers well, has a clean exchange, and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Playing through the ball more will help defensive abilities improve. Nathan is young and has a lot of time to develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
