12/02/2018 - College PREP - Lewiston, ME Nathan is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Nathan shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance, and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact to all fields. Overall, Nathan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/09/2018 - College PREP - Portland, ME Nathan showed improvements during his last workout with the Factory. In the OF, Nathan has active feet, soft hands, and agile movements to the ball. He reads the ball off the bat well, moves to it athletically, and works behind properly. He has a long arm action and quick release with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Nathan is a good hitter with a tall setup, a good load, and solid balance. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and he works it gap to gap.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Nathan performed with strengths at the Baseball Factory Winter Classic. Defensively, he communicated well behind the dish and showed good tracking ability. He had a clean exchange and flashed a pop time as low as 2.34 seconds. Continued footwork drills and receiving drills will allow him to take his game up a level. Offensively, he also tracked well, allowing the ball to travel to contact points before hitting them with flashes of pop to all fields. He was on-time to launch and had a decent load, but worked in the cage sessions on adding rhythm and fluidity. All in all - Nathan is a young guy that will look to add strength over the next year to compete at a high level as a freshman.

06/30/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH Nathan is a (2020 grad) R/R 2-way player as a C/OF. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with rhythm in his hands. Swing is level as he connects and hits hard line-drives. Behind the plate, he sits in well with simple/quiet actions. He works hard around pitches in the dirt and tries to body them up. Transfer/exchange is clean with accurate throws down to 2B (pop times of 2.59). In the OF, Nathan hustles into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball at it's highest point and has a clean exchange to throw. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
