03/24/2024 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Nathan continued to showcase his skills with Baseball Factory again on 3/24/2024 in Manalapan NJ. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance & keeps balance throughout his swing. Additionally, does a nice job creating separation in his swing to maintain rhythm in his mechanics & a direct bat path at the plate. His swing will continue to develop nicely as he incorporates his lower 1/2 more & creates more bat speed in his swing. Behind the dish, Nathan sets up in an athletic stance which allows him to present his glove well when receiving the baseball & stays consistent on low pitches keeping his thumb underneath the baseball. Also, Nathan has effective footwork & clean transfer movements on his throwdowns leading him to his best pop time with Baseball Factory to date of a 2.23. In the field at SS, Nathan incorporates pre pitch movements & ability to throw from multiple arm slots. IF mechanics will continue to improve as he gets more reps in the IF working on glove position on groundballs. Overall, Nathan has a strong skill set for his age & continues to improve each time we see him. We look forward to seeing him again soon.

A right-handed hitter he sets up in an athletic and square stance with high hands. Has an on-time load and hits into a firm front side. Gets good extension with ability to control the barrel. In live game action, he showed good plate discipline as he reached base 5 times with a double, 3 walks, and was hit by a pitch. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Nathan continues to shine with his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
