10/02/2011 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Nathan is a solid, tall RHP / OF that will graduate in 2013. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound as he works in line with on-time separation through a long arm action and 3/4 arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 77-79 mph flashing sink when down in the zone. Changeup is best off speed pitch showing feel for with sinking action. He throws a slider that is better than his breaking ball, displaying tight spin and sharp bite. Breaking ball lacks shape with loose spin and depth. He throws strikes and is raw on the mound. In the OF, feet are active / efficient in taking proper routes / angles with an accurate arm. He needs to work on getting behind balls more, play through and work on getting rid of ball quicker to improve defensive grades. At the plate, Scheibe shows a squared, balanced approach. He makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving with instruction and adjustments. With 2 years to further develop, Nathan has abilities with time and room to improve.
