07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Nathan is a 2024 RHP prospect with a tall frame at 6'4" 245 pounds. On the mound, he throws from a low 3/4 slot and shows off a loose arm action with a 4-pitch mix. He does a good job of gathering his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. He keeps his eyes on his target throughout his delivery and gets nice extension through his release point. He has a smooth, controlled landing and finishes with his chest over his front knee. His FB reached a max velo of 75 MPH and showed some tail. He shows good command of his split finger and cutter and does a nice job of maintaining FB arm speed with both pitches. At the plate, he starts in a tall, squared stance and has an on-time, short stride to the pitcher with a good load back. He keeps his head still and down and features a balanced setup. His lower half works through the baseball and he shows off strong hands with an on-plane swing path. His hips and hands do a nice job of working together to drive the baseball. Nathan is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he enters his senior year of high school!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
