07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Nathan is an athletic built two-way SS/C who will graduate in 2021. At the plate, he continues to improve as he starts from a a squared up stance and displays quick hands. He is direct to the baseball and develops a fairly level swing plane. He lets the ball get deep, spraying to all fields with consistent line drive contact. In the INF, Nathan shows active feet attacking the baseball and fielding out in front with soft hands. Getting lower in his fielding position will allow hands to be more sure. Continuing to progress every time he steps on the field, Nathan is a prospect to watch in the coming years.

01/08/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Nathan is a great 2-way player at the SS/C position. Behind the plate, he sits with an athletic/low base. Feet are active and he receives pitches with a quiet glove. Nathan gets rid of the ball in a hurry as he makes consistent/accurate throws down to 2B. In the middle infield, he fields Gb's in a low/square fielding position. His eyes track the ball well into his backhand glove as he makes on line throws to his target. At the plate, Nathan has an aggressive approach. He strides short/square in the box as his swing path is direct to the ball. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Soft hands
2. Quicker exchange
3. Quick to block and recover
Infield
1. More range
2. Soft glove
3. Quicker exchange to throw
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
