Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/OFPosition Projection

03/28/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Nathaniel is a 2026 SS/OF. Small frame thin build with room to add strength and plenty of time to do it. Primary SS, young developing player who gets ok reads off bat. Made accurate throws to 1st base. Showed good footwork on balls to his backhand. Good touch on his DP feeds. Secondary OF, attacks the groundballs aggressively. Long arm action in back into a high 3/4 release. Right-handed hitter starts with a tall and even stance. Quiet head and eyes allow him to track pitches well. Does a good job of keeping his eye on ball at contact. Good attitude with good effort at the plate. Nathaniel needs to continue to work on all facets of his game through practice and live game reps.

01/24/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Nathaniel is a lean SS/OF who will graduate in2026. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active but needs to work to get behind balls to play with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At SS, feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Nathaniel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
