01/28/2024 - National Showcase - Jacksonville , FL Nate is a 2028 2B/RHP prospect from Saint Augustine, FL. At second, he shows efficient movements to the baseball and covers ground to all angles. He gets in an athletic fielding position and presents his hands out in front. He does a nice job of working through his backhand. He has a clean exchange and makes consistent throws with strength online to his targets. He does a good job of opening his hips when making throws on double play balls. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance and has an on-time stride with a good load. He shows off fluid movements to the baseball and does a great job of keeping his balance centered through contact. He makes consistent contact and is able to spray the ball to all fields. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 slot and has a clean arm action. He stays squared to the plate when driving and does a nice job of rotating his core when finishing. He shows the ability to throw strikes with his FB, working the pitch in and out. His CB has early 11-5 break and he does a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. Nathaniel is definitely a prospect to watch with continued development!

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Nate is a 2028 3B/RHP out of Saint Augustine, FL who recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. At third, he gets in an athletic position pre-pitch on the balls of his feet and shows off smooth, quick footwork and a good first step. He gets in an athletic, on-time fielding position and squares the ball up, doing a good job to work through the baseball with hands out in front. He has a clean exchange with a quick arm action and makes accurate throws to his targets. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance and has a short stride to the pitcher. He has a controlled rhythm in the box and good coordination with his hips and hands. He does well to work through the baseball with his lower half and shows good barrel control, especially on pitches on the inner-half. He showed some good aggressiveness in game action, and reached base in 3 of 7 plate appearances with a single, walk, and hit by pitch. On the mound, he starts square to the plate and does a good job of gathering his balance over the rubber before driving to the plate. He gets on-time separation and has a clean arm action. He stays in-line to his target with his stride and gets plus extension, doing a good job of finishing with his chest over his knee. He ran his FB up to 60 MPH and pulled it to the glove side at times. Nate battled out there with his command but did fire 2 innings of game action and allowed only one hit. With continued development and strength gain, Nate will definitely be a prospect worth watching!

01/22/2023 - National Showcase - Jacksonville, FL Nathaniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound,he topped out at 58 mph. Fastball shows tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At 3B, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/13/2023 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Nathaniel Mohan is a 2028 3B/RHP prospect out of Saint Augustine, FL. At 3B, he gets himself in a good athletic pre-pitch position with active feet which he uses to get low and field balls out in front. He displays a clean exchange and accurate arm and with more reps should develop an improved range. At bat he demonstrates a smooth load that takes him into a rhythmic swing. He does a good job of working his lower half through the ball and displays good bat speed. On the mound, he works from a high 3/4 arm slot and has a good presence. He has a solid, on time and in-line delivery. With improved size and arm strength he could develop into a pitching prospect to watch. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Nathaniel.

08/14/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Jacksonville, FL Nathanial is a 2B/RHP in the 2028 class. In the field, he attacks the baseball with aggressive feet. He squares his body to the baseball and his exchanges are clean. Makes on-line feeds to his targets. Working to sink his hips and play lower to the ground will allow his glove presentation to be more out in front and less restricted. On the mound, he throws 3 pitches for strikes. His FB topped at 53 and worked both sides of the zone. His CB sat 51-3 and his CH sat 49-50. With solid deception. At the plate, he gets his backside through for line drive power. Stays inside his feet well and his barrel is on-plane. Overall, Nathanial has a bright future ahead of him.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Nathaniel is a 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex. In the field, Nathaniel shows active footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistent to his target. Following his throws can help Nathaniel make stronger throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and engages his lower half well. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap. Nathaniel can barrel up more baseballs by working on his contact points on outside pitches. On the mound, Nathaniel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Nathaniel operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 53mph. Cutter sits from 50-51mph. Changeup sits at 51mph with arm side run. Striding inline toward the plate can help Nathaniel improve his pitch command. Overall, Nathaniel is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/15/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Palmetto, FL Nathaniel is a 2B/RHP in the class of 2028 out of Saint Augustine, FL. Defensively, he does a good job of attacking the baseball to close the distance. He makes the routine plays with accurate throws over to his target at first base. Offensively, he uses a square stance with a short stride to find balance at his launch position. From there, he works his hands on plane with the baseball to work a line drive approach through the middle of the field. On the mound, he did well gathering over the rubber and separating on time while keeping his eyes on the target. He works a three pitch mix of fastball, curveball and change up in his arsenal of pitches. With years of development, we believe Nathaniel has the time to progress his game to work towards the next level.

03/13/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Jacksonville, FL Nathaniel is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Nathaniel has a presentable glove, a low/square fielding position, and he moves well to the glove side. He fields from a good base, works the double play well, and throws with accuracy to his target. If Nathaniel can quicken footwork and exchange, and add arm strength, defensive abilities can get better. On the mound, Nathaniel has good balance over the rubber, on-time hand separation, and a clean arm circle. He gets good extension on his pitches, lands with good direction toward home, and finishes in a complete position. Continuing to add velocity and off-speed will help mound effectiveness get better. Offensively, Nathaniel has a square/athletic stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, on plane, and hits line drives. Added bat speed and barrel accuracy will only help hitting get better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
