11/01/2015 - College PREP - Midland, TX Neeko continues to show well on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he now runs a speedy 60 in 6.70. He is a lead-off type hitter with his ability to barrel the ball up and put pressure on the defense with his speed. This lefty has quick hands, whipping the barrel with speed to and through the zone. He connects and drives the ball on a line with late explosion to all parts of the field. At SS, Neeko moves fluidly around the GB from right to left. He funnels smoothly with a quick release to throw. Neeko is a talented prospect that will play at a high level.

07/22/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Neeko is a hard worker who brings energy to the field every day. This lead-off type of guy is a spark plug that can make things happen. With the bat, this lefty show rhythm to load with good zone awareness (proven by drawing 3 walks). Barrel delivery is level as he squares it up consistently. He's on base all of the time and puts himself into scoring position with aggressiveness and speed (6.85 60 yard dash) on the base-paths. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path will result in more bat speed and more pop off of his barrel. In the MIF, Neeko shows quick/active footwork moving well on the balls of his feet. Actions are smooth/athletic as he comes to get the GB. He funnels well and has the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. A 2017 grad - Neeko is a solid MIF who will find success on the diamond over the next couple of years.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Neeko is a 2017 SS who has a bright future in the game. He possesses a lot of ability both at the plate and in the field. At the dish, Neeko has a balanced set up, swings on a level path and has very quick hands. Neeko's power numbers will increase as he gets stronger and uses his lower half more. He can also become a better player by improving base running instincts. In the field, Neeko shows smooth actions, fields the ball with sure hands and has good range to both his glove and backhand side. The implementation of a long toss program will increase his arm strength and allow him to stay at shortstop. Overall, Neeko has the tools to be a player to keep on the radar.

11/02/2014 - College PREP - Midland, TX Neeko is an athletic SS that will graduate in 2017. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.09 60 time. Defensive abilities are slightly above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He works around and plays through the ball well with his body. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he presents hands more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup and he tracks the ball well. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Neeko has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
