Official Scouting Report

12/05/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Nehemiah continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-73 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. *****UPDATE 1/25/22 - Nehemiah has indeed been working on his arm strength as he posted an 87 mph raw arm strength on a run and gun!

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Nehemiah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. On the mound is where Nehemiah stands out. He flat out knows how to pitch. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We feel as though he will get outs at the next level, just needs a shot to show what he can do.

03/06/2021 - All-In Membership - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Nehemiah is a lean RHP/OF who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Slider is harder with tight spin. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and present well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Nehemiah has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
