He raised arm strength to 66 MPH and exit velocity to 80 MPH. Behind the plate, Neko sits in athletically and hands are soft. He has quick feet, agile range, and he throws with accuracy to 2nd base. In the INF, Neko has active feet, good range, and soft hands. He creates a good fielding angle, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and a loose arm action across the diamond. Offensively, Neko has an open stance, a short stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes hard contact, stands in well balanced, and he uses his lower.

Behind the plate, Neko sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He moves on time to block and tucks his chin well. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Neko improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and takes a level swing, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Neko can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Neko gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Neko shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Breaking ball sits from 51-53mph. Cutter sits from 50-51mph. Knuckle ball sits from 51-52mph. Taking a simpler starter step can help Neko improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Neko has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/18/2019 - National Tryout - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Neko lowered pop times and improved defensive skills behind the plate during his last workout with The Factory. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to build arm strength and improve his mobility behind the plate. At the plate, Neko starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps his head down at contact. He needs to continue to create backside drive with the lower and attack the inside part of the ball. On the bump, Neko has good mound presence, gathers over the rubber, and separates on time. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
