09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Neko is a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying pro level hitting/power potential through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power to all fields. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight in a firm front side. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering ball well out front. Pop times have improved as threw his lowest time to date at 2.19 with carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, defensive abilities are now well above average as he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.

02/17/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Neko worked out behind the plate and at 3B during his last workout with The Factory. He raised arm strength to 66 MPH and exit velocity to 80 MPH. Behind the plate, Neko sits in athletically and hands are soft. He has quick feet, agile range, and he throws with accuracy to 2nd base. In the INF, Neko has active feet, good range, and soft hands. He creates a good fielding angle, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and a loose arm action across the diamond. Offensively, Neko has an open stance, a short stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes hard contact, stands in well balanced, and he uses his lower.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Neko is a coachable C/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cleveland All Star Experience. Behind the plate, Neko sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He moves on time to block and tucks his chin well. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Neko improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and takes a level swing, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
