07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Nicholas continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. He is a versatile player that can play many positions.

12/18/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Nicholas is an athletic SS who will graduate in 2022. At SS, he displays quick footwork as he gets into an athletic fielding position. He has a clean/quick exchange and makes strong, accurate throws to his target. At the plate, Nicholas tracks each pitch well into the zone. He has rhythm in his swing as he drives pitches will pop to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
