07/09/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Nicholas is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Nicholas gets into a low position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Smoothening his footwork to field can help Nicholas improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He makes consistent contact and drives the ball into the gaps. Nicholas can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Nicholas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Nicholas shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 67-68mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Nicholas improve as a pitcher. Overall, Nicholas is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Nicholas is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that made several adjustments through the weekend. At SS, Nicholas presents a low/early glove and plays through his backhand. He has good footwork on double plays and works around the ball. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, funnel the ball into his body, and have a clean exchange. At the plate, Nicholas starts in an athletic secondary, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He hits off a firm front side and has a middle approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and get extension through contact. On the bump, Nicholas gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. He stays directional toward the plate and rotates toward his target. He needs to continue to ride his back leg toward the plate and work north to south in his delivery. He has good sink on his fastball and good feel for the breaking ball. Nicholas needs to continue to long toss to increase arm strength and working on agilities to make his reactions quick to the ball at SS. Nicholas will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Nicholas is a lean, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Nicholas has good pre-pitch actions, soft hands, and he moves with fluid/active feet to the ball. He has smooth actions, a clean exchange, and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Nicholas has good size, a clean arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. At the plate, Nicholas has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and quick hands. He has as direct barrel to the ball and makes hard/consistent contact. Nicholas can improve overall abilities with work on the following

Defense
1.	Smooth out footwork
2.	Angles
Pitching
1.	Lower 1/2
2.	More extension
Offense
1.	Keep head still
2.	Rhythm/Timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
