01/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.03 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He reads balls well off the bat and moves well laterally, showing outstanding range. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate hitting abilities are well above average with solid power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side.

02/17/2020 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Nick continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.21 runner. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and aggressive working through a level swing path. He loads well and utilizes his lower half well with rhythm. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-66 mph with 11/5 break. Changeup sits from 70-71 mph as he maintains arm speed but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help him improve as a pitcher.

02/18/2019 - College Recruiting Day - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Nicholas continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-73 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/19/2018 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Nicholas is a hardworking 2B prospect who has a projectable build. As a right-handed hitter, Nicholas has a tall setup with a centered balance. He has a load with a square stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Nicholas has a long swing path and maintains a level barrel through the zone. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Nicholas plays with effective, fluid footwork and covers ground in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low position with soft hands. Nicholas has a quick, clean exchange leading into a long, loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the ball showing consistently online throws across the diamond. Overall, Nicholas is a well-rounded prospect who has the right approach on both sides of the ball.

07/31/2016 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Nicholas is a solid young 2B who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Nicholas shows good body control and sure hands. He presents his hands on time to field the ball and has a clean exchange to throw as he keeps the ball on line to his target. Nicholas can improve defensively by playing through the ball more. At the plate, Nicholas shows decent balance in the box and has a square stride to the ball. He tracks the ball well and stays inside as he drives the ball up the middle. Nicholas can improve his hitting abilities by using his lower half more in his load. Overall, Nicholas is a talented young prospect and will be a name to follow as he continues to develop.

07/16/2015 - College PREP - Auburn Hills, MI Nicholas is a consistent ball player that plays the infield. Defensively, he got his feet ready to move, took decent angles to come get the ball and was sure with the glove. He had a clean exchange and was consistently on-time to field. Offensively, he had a quiet head, plus balance, and middle approach. He had a good path with barrel feel and front side extension. In all - Nicholas is a 2021 grad that has a very good looking future ahead of him.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
