08/18/2015 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Nicholas ia a 2-way player (RHP/3B) who has a big/strong build (6'3"/235). On the mound, this righty has a 4-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. He works to a controlled balance point and stays directional toward the dish. FB tops out at 79 mph with showing slight run. Curveball has 10/4 shape and will become more effective as he works to stay on top of it. Knuckleball has some 'tumble' and will get GB outs. Working to avoid throwing across his body and allowing his strong lower 1/2 to drive off of the rubber will help to get more into his FB. At 3B, Galese shows active footwork and moves well into a square fielding position. He presents his glove and is sure handed with a clean exchange to throw. As a hitter, this righty has a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He delivers the barrel quickly and connects with strength, as the ball jumps off of his barrel (exit velocity = 87 mph). Even more power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive throughout the swing. Nicholas has a ton of upside and is very close to unlocking his potential on the diamond.
