09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Delray Beach, FL Nicholis continues to shine with his baseball abilities. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/12/2022 - All-In Membership - Port St. Lucie, FL Nicholas continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball shows a range of 67-72 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Fort Myers, FL Nicholas is a tall and strong (6’3/265) 1B/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, he solid target with a large wingspan for his defenders. He has an athletic fielding position and works well from the ground up. His exchanges are clean and throws from a loose high ¾ slot. Further agility will increase footwork around the bag. On the mound, he uses a three-pitch mix. His FB topped at 71. His CB sat 60 11/5 shape and medium break. His CH sat 66-67 with sinking actions. Has a great balance point and works downhill. Maintains a sharp front side action with glove and engages his hips properly. At the plate, demonstrates pull side power (70 exit velo). Begins with a tall set up and loads to a centered balanced position. Learning to engage his back hip will allow a stronger transfer of power in the swing. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
