01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-82 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth, clean actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows setup. Hands are quick and work through a level setup. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/28/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Augusta, NJ Nick continues show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Nick ran his best 60 to date at 7.45 seconds, and raised exit velocity to 73 MPH during his time in Omaha. At 3rd base, Nick has efficient footwork, he plays on the balls of his feet, and he moves with a quick 1st step to the ball. He fields low and squarely, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Nick has a good presence, he gathers well, and competes in the zone. He pitches to contact, rotates through completely, and he keeps the ball down. At the plate, Nick has an open stance, an activated load, and a square stride toward the pitcher. He centers the ball well, he makes solid contact, and he can work the ball gap to gap.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Nick matched his best arm strength at 82 MPH and lowered his 60 time to 8.02 seconds in Pirate City. At 3B, Nick showed athletic actions, active feet, and a presentable glove. He fields out in front of his body, makes plays consistently, and throws with a short/accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Nick's FB ranged from 75 - 77 MPH, he has good balance over the rubber, and gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home plate and aggressively attacks hitter. Offensively, Nick stands in squarely and has a good bat angle to the ball. He flashes some strength in his swing, and he uses his lower 1/2.

08/29/2021 - All-In Membership - Augusta, NJ Nicholas is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame, with broad shoulders, athletic build and plenty of physical projection remaining. In the infield, he starts with fluid/efficient feet and has good body control at the baseball. Works right to left while trying to create good fielding angles while picking out hops. Fields from a low/square fielding position, with a quick/clean exchange, and showed good glove actions. A short arm action as he makes accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot at 82mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He has a projectible from and keeps his eyes on target throughout delivery. Attacks hitters with his FB that sat 74-77mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with medium break, and a developing changeup. CB was best pitch during his bullpen. A left-handed hitter, he hits from an upright and even stance. Square stride who tracks ball to barrel. Pulls hands inside and has an all fields approach. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Nicholas having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Nicholas is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and SS. In the OF, Nicholas has playable hands and feet and he gets behind the ball well. He makes routine plays consistently, has a clean exchange, and throws with okay direction to his target. At SS, Nicholas shows good hustle to the ball, he keeps ground balls in front, and throws with some accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Nicholas has a tall set-up, a still head, and he makes good contact. He has some bat speed and makes square contact. Nicholas can improve his baseball abilities with work on the following

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
