11/06/2016 - College PREP - Hillsboro, OR Nicholas is a talented left-handed hitting 3B prospect who graduates in 2018. At the hot corner, Nicholas plays with active footwork and agile actions doing a nice job staying square to the baseball. He presents his glove and has a clean, quick exchange. Nicholas looks especially smooth on his backhand. He has a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. Nicholas plays with momentum through his release showing online throws. Offensively, Nicholas has a good, athletic stance with a firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a centered balance. Nicholas has above average bat speed with an on-plane swing producing consistent contact. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Overall, Nicholas has good potential to become an impactful player at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
