07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14)
Nicholas is a C/OF who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, he looked very comfortable as he sat in a low wide setup. He received pitches well letting them get to him and being soft with his hands. Balls in the dirt he blocked well and centered them back towards the plate. In the OF, he gets behind the ball and goes into an efficient crow hop to make his throw. Increasing arm strength will help Nicholas both behind the plate and in the OF. With the bat, he keeps his head still and has a simple approach towards the baseball. He implements his backside well and uses his quick hands to fire through the zone. Swing path is level and direct which helped him make hard contact, spraying the ball to all fields. Nicholas shows advanced actions with four years further to develop.
