04/27/2008 - College PREP - Fairfax, VA Nicholas is a tall thin player with long arms and legs. At SS, Nicholas has soft hands and an accurate throw. He gets to the ball quickly and moves laterally well. He needs to keep his feet moving through the throw instead of standing straight up. He has an idea of how to turn the double play. On the mound, Nicholas shows a solid delivery with balance and consistent mechanics. He is around the plate with every pitch but needs to get more use out of his legs to increase power potential. A long toss program can also help increase velocity. At the plate, Nicholas has quick hands from both sides of the plate, but he is better from the left. From both sides, Nicholas needs to use the lower half to increase power. From the left, he drops his back shoulder creating an uphill swing. Keeping shoulders level will help hit line drives. Overall, Nicholas is a good college prospect and he is athletic with a high ceiling.
