12/17/2017 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Nicholas showed well offensively in Madison and improved in several areas since his last workout. Behind the plate, Nicholas sits-in low, he has solid stance, and he blocks the ball well. He recovers well, has a clean exchange, and good direction toward his target. Nicholas will need to work on balance, add arm strength, and work on throwing accuracy for catching skills to get better. In the OF, Nicholas has playable hands and feet and he moves well to the ball. He keeps it in front, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. If Nicholas can soften his glove, play more through the ball, and quicken his release, defense will improve. At the plate, Nicholas is a strong hitter with an athletic set-up, good balance, and direct barrel to the ball. He makes consistent contact and uses his lower body well. More rhythm and letting the ball travel deeper can help hitting get even better.
