07/09/2012 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Nick is a tall, lanky RHP that will graduate in 2013. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with arm side run. Changeup is best off speed pitch, showing a feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with slight break as he needs to work to stay on top and create more extension out front to improve pitch. He throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will rise quickly as more arm strength is developed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
