11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Nike is an excellent SS prospect from Swampscott, Ma in the 2025 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions and they feel he is a next level player. In the field, he shows quick fluid feet and covers his defensive zone well with 7.24 speed. Looks athletic in his fielding position and his hands work well with his body. His catch throw is lighting fast and he can easily achieve several arm angles based upon his defensive zone. Arm plays at 87 and is accurate to his targets. Scouts feel on the defensive side, he will need to create an internal clock to adjust to the different speeds of the game. In the box, he shows a controlled load from an athletic base. Stays sideways to the dish and stays inside his feet as he transfers his weight forward. Bats speed plays at 85 velo and squares the back of the baseball for line drive production. Overall, Nick has numerous positive tools and scouts are eager to witness his development at future events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
