08/06/2009 - Under Armour All-America Game 2009 Castellanos is a complete 3B with the tools and body to be an impact player. He generates plus bat speed and has legitimate home run power to all fields. This was on display when he won the Home Run Derby and MVP honors at the Under Armour All-America Game. He has a tall, broad-shouldered frame similar to Scott Rolen and makes all the plays at 3B with ease. He projects in the middle of the line-up at any level. We have seen a lot of Nick as he attended an Under Armour National Tryout and then our Dodgertown World Series prior to his freshman year in high school. Nick continued to develop through his participation in our Under Armour SE Tournament with the All-American Prospects - an Under Armour Franchise Team. Scouts projected Nick to be a top selection in the MLB Draft and he proved to be just that, selected 44th overall by the Detroit Tigers in the 2010 MLB Draft from Archbishop McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches, FL. Castellanos made his major league debut on September 1, 2013 and is currently the Tigers starting third baseman.
