03/22/2009 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Nick is a young player with some defensive ability. At 1B, Nick shows good glove work and an accurate throw. His quickness can improve, but he has an idea of how to field. Nick also pitches with a good glove side lead and a directional delivery, but right now is he more suited for the infield unless his arm strength increases. At the plate, Nick has good tracking ability and he can go the other way. He needs to work on staying a little more balanced and swinging through the ball, but he did hit several line drives.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
