08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Nick lowered his 60 time and showed a solid swing during Pirate City. He was timed at a quick 6.94. At the plate, Nick tracks the ball well, he has a simple set up, and quick hands. He has fast bat speed, gets good extension, and the ball jumps off his bat when properly centered. In the middle INF, Nick has agile movements, and he fields athletically in a square position. He funnels well, his exchange is clean, and he has online accuracy to his target.

05/07/2017 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Nick is a strong, athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.28. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (95 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has excellent strength in his swing with the baseball coming off the bat a little differently with gap-to-gap pop. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Nick has the makings of special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
