01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Nick continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through the baseball, creating extension. He is aggressive and attacks balls and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.00 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the plate.

06/14/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Nick continues to show well on the diamond. This strong righty steps into the box with a purpose. Hands are quick on a short/direct path as he barrels the ball up with pop consistently. He this the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. Behind the dish, Nick sits in well with quiet actions, tracking pitches into a soft/low target. Lateral actions are quick as he centers up pitches in the dirt. Throws to 2B are on the bag coming from a smooth transfer/exchange. Hanks is a catcher who can swing it and those are in very high demand at the next level.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Nick is a hardworking and very coachable player with a tremendous upside both offensively and defensively. He is a competitor and leader behind the dish as he showed the ability to handle the pitching staff and call a good game. Pop times continue to show in 1.90 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life and carry through his target. He shows off his athletic abilities through his receiving / blocking tools. At the plate, hands are quick, generating bat speed through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off of his bat, displaying gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 8. Nick will be a fun player to follow and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Nick is a solid, athletic catcher that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
