01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Nick is a 2023 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. On the mound, he has a projectible frame with a simple delivery. He separates his hands on-time, with a loose arm stroke, and extends through his target. He lands square to target and takes the proper stride length. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 75mph with good cutting action, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with plus command, and a changeup that he throws for strikes. In 3 innings of work, he punched out 2 hitters and mixed in all of his pitches. In the field, he creates good fielding angles glove side with ability to field 1-handed. He fields from a square fielding position with hands out front. A clean exchange who gets rid of the baseball and throws from multiple arm slots. Throws were accurate to first base, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 83mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and even stance. Intent in swing, with a square glide step, and smooth timing. Made contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. During the games, he reached base 4 times with 2 doubles, a walk, and reached on an error. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Nick is a tall 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Opening Day Classic. In the field, Nick makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange. He throws with a clean arm and makes strong/accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and rotates his core through his swing well, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority. On the mound, Nick gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Nick shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 65-66mph with tailing action. Overall, Nick is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

10/04/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Canonsburg (Pittsburgh), PA Nick is a tall, athletic (6'3"/195) 3B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with excellent power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. With 3 years to further develop, Nick has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
