08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic, squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, FB ranges from 68-71 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

05/24/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Mooresville (Charlotte), NC Nick continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Nick is a talented 3B/RHP that attended the Pre-Season Rookie All-American. At 3B, Nick shows relaxed actions as he moves to the ball and gets into a solid fielding position on-time. He presents a good glove and makes a clean exchange as he gets rid of the ball delivering accurate throws with carry and life. At the dish, Nick shows a square stance with loose hands getting his foot down on time with a short stride. He gets his lower half through getting the barrel on plane showing fast bat speed. He makes consistent contact as he rotates his core showing a solid gap to gap approach. On the bump, Nick has a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB. He has a good presence on the mound with simple and fluid movements. His arm action is clean as he works down the mound and rotates to finish. Nick shows a solid ability as a 2-way player and will continue to improve.

09/08/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Greenville, SC Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls more and play through more with his body. Glove action is clean / firm but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel, driving the ball to all fields. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball shows a range of 66-69 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Nick is a hard working 3B/RHP that graduates in 2023. He works hard to get into a good fielding position. Fielding the ball, he has a firm glove and makes quick exchanges. He creates momentum towards his target making strong accurate throws around the diamond. Working on his lateral mobility will improve Nick's range. At the plate Nick sets up square with comfortable hands and has a good rhythm for his load. He shows good bat speed as he works to get on plane. He shows the ability to be able to drive the ball with a 83 mph exit velo. On the mound Nick shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, CH. As he works down the mound he gathers with a relaxed knee lift and separates on time. His stride is in line with a good stride length and controlled landing. Nick will continue to grow and mature in his game.

03/31/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Greensboro, NC Nick is a big, solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays 3B. On the mound, Nick has good balance, he separates on time, and lands with good direction toward home plate. He keeps his eyes on target, competes in the zone, and mixes in his off-speed well. At 3B, Nick has playable hands and feet, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and has a clean exchange with accuracy and consistency across the diamond. At the plate, Nick is a good hitter with an athletic set-up, a good load, and solid balance. He has good bat speed, finds the barrel, and gets solid extension through the zone. Nick can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
