01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Nick who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball gap-to-gap pop (exit velocity = 86 mph). At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (86 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. A projectable MIF - he will play at a high level and make an impact.

06/02/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West This athletic MIF shows a tremendous future on the diamond. A RHH- hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. He has strength (84 mph exit velocity) in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws (85 mph velocity). Defensive abilities are near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Nick has a ton of upside and possesses the skill-set that will play at a very high level.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Nick is an advanced Shortstop with a long, slender build. A nice athlete, he plays with very good rhythm, has nice fielding actions and has very quick transitions to throw/flip. Has a solid arm across the diamond (86mph) and is very accurate. At the plate he is still athletic, is short to the ball, has quick hands and shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields. At the event he had 3 hits, reach base safely 4 times and used his smarts and quickened on the bases to swipe 3 bases. Look for big things ahead for Rolls.

09/10/2017 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Nick is a talented shortstop who has a naturally athletic build. In the field, Nick plays with fluid, active footwork and agile actions covering good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic, square position. Nick has a clean exchange leading into a short, quick arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good carry across the diamond. As a right-handed hitter, Nick has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has a fluid, smooth load with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Nick shows fast bat speed with a direct, on-plane swing path. He gets good extension at contact consistently landing his barrel to the baseball. He is a line drive type hitter who can drive the ball to each gap. Overall, Nick has skill on both sides of the ball and potential to make an impact at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
