Official Scouting Report

  • 3Class Rating
  • OF/2BPosition Projection

09/12/2018 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Nick is a coachable OF/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Under Armour Fall Classic. In the field, Nick shows quick footwork and is very agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and makes the routine plays. He gains momentum well on his throws and keeps them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and good gap to gap pop. Overall, Nick is a talented prospect who has the skill set to produce at the next level.

07/25/2018 - College PREP - Cleveland, OH Nick is an athletic OF/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Offensively, he has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (86 mph exit velocity) with the ball coming off well of his barrel. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls more but needs to play through more with his body. Range is a plus as he utilizes his quick feet (6.60 60 time) well in covering a lot of ground. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with zip (89 mph velocity) across the diamond. Nick is a prospect on the field and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
