10/08/2017 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL
Nick is a young, lean 2020 prospect who shows positional versatility in the field. He shows good feel defensively at first with good range to make plays down the line and in the hole. He shows a quick first step with active feet to cover his position and field the ball centered in his body. He has good instincts around the bag to shorten throws for infielders and pick balls in the dirt. In the outfield, his prep before the pitch and effort allow him to track down balls hit in all areas. He has sure hands to field and does a good job of keeping the ball in front to hold runners. At the dish, he has a square, athletic setup with quiet actions and a patient approach to work the count and get the pitch he can do damage with. He has a middle approach, working to keep his hands inside the ball and hit it where it is pitched. Working on getting loaded and striding on time will lead to more square contact and base hits moving forward. We look forward to watching how Nick continues to develop on the diamond.

10/23/2016 - College PREP - O'Fallon, MO
Nickolas is a young, versatile 1B/OF prospect with lots of projection left in his frame. He shows surprising pop for a player his age and size, with good extension in his swing that generates good backspin and carry on the ball. He is always under control in the outfield, taking efficient angles to the ball with a good first step. He squares the ball up to field, making sure to keep it in front and has a clean exchange to throw with good accuracy to his target. Implementing a long toss program will improve arm strength and allow him to keep runners where they are on the bases. At the dish, he has an athletic, square setup with natural instincts in the box. He loads to a stacked position and launches a level swing through the zone, making lots of contact and putting the ball in play consistently, with the ability to drive the ball the opposite way. As a first baseman, he has a quick arm to throw and makes good double play feeds. He takes good angles on slow rollers to make nice plays on do or die balls. Nickolas is a prospect we look forward to watching continue to develop.
