12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Nicolas is a 2B/3B that will graduate in 2023. At 2B, Nicolas works hard to square the ball up. He takes good routes to the balls hit to both sides of him. As he fields, he makes the exchange getting rid of the ball from the 3/4 slot. He shows plus DP feeds up the middle. Nicolas can improve his game by long tossing and becoming more agile. At the plate, Nicolas sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands. He starts his swing with a small stride working to get his lower half through. He shows fast hands to deliver the barrel and hit the ball to all fields. Getting stronger will allow him to hit for more power. Nicolas worked hard at Pirate City and we look forward to seeing his progress.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City Nicolas is a coachable SS/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Fall Classic at Pirate City. In the field, Nicolas shows smooth footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Nicolas improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into his load on time and takes a level swing, driving the ball to the opposite field. Nicolas can improve as a hitter by working on his contact points. Overall, Nicolas is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Nicolas is a SS/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Nicolas makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Nicolas improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with center balance, working to barrel up the baseball. Nicolas can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Nicolas has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Nicolas is a hardworking and talented shortstop that will graduate in 2023. At shortstop Nicolas showed athletic and quick footwork with a +1st step to the ball. Fielding the ball, he presents his hands out front and makes clean exchanges. He creates momentum towards his target and makes accurate throws with a loose arm action with good backspin on the ball. Continuing to develop arm strength through a long toss program will help Nicolas' game. At the plate Nicolas sets up in an open stance with high and loose hands. He gets his foot down on time with fluid action and makes consistently hard contact with + barrel control. His hip/hand separation helps him create the power to hit line drives to all fields. Overall, Nicolas shows great actions on the field and with consistency can elevate his game.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Nicolas is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
