07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Niguel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.12 runner. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power improving as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 4 with a 2B. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with on line carry (85 mph exit velocity) to his target. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-76 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm strength on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/20/2022 - All-In Membership - Montgomery, AL Niguel is a strong RHP/OF in the class of 2023 out of Pike Road, AL. In the OF, he showed the ability to run through the ground ball while fielding it cleanly. He momentum on the run through ball allowed him to make strong consistent throws to his targets. At the plate, he used a square set up with a long stride to create separation and explosive bat speed through the zone. He showed hard contact with good power potential. On the mound, he displayed a live arm with a 3 pitch mix. His fastball ranged in the high 70's and topped out at 81 mph while his breaking ball had good break and changeup showed good deception. Niguel is a physical athlete who will continue to develop his game and progress as a ball player.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
