03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Nii is a tall and athletic OF/1B who continues to impress scouts with his actions on the diamond. This 2023 grad shows to be a player with a bright future. Has the frame (6ft three/185) and still has room for growth. On the grass, he can go get the baseball (6.87 60 yd dash). He moves with great agility and knows how to get behind the baseball. Stays inside on his routes and working to create a last step forward motion with only add to his dependable arm (84 velo). On the dirt, he likes to stay low and shows pocket feel on all types of ground balls. Has a feel for the position and with more game like reps, he can become a great addition to a college inf. At the plate, the ball simply jumps off the bat at 92 velo. Demonstrates gap type power by his direct path. Learning to incorporate his lower half more will make him a completely feared hitter. Overall, there is a lot to like about Nii’s game and he will only get better with more time.

02/20/2022 - National Evaluation and Tryout - San Bernardino, CA Nii showed well offensively and defensively during his last workout with The Factory. At 1B, Nii has good size, long levers, and active footwork. He moves well to the ball, makes plays, and throws with consistency and accuracy to his target. In the OF, Nii is aggressive to the ball, hands are firm, and he makes plays consistently. He covers ground, his exchange is clean, and he delivers the ball quickly to his cut off man. Offensively, this RHH has good balance, explosive bat speed, and he makes hard contact. He swings in good rhythm, works the middle of the field, and he uses his lower body well. Nii is a solid player with a bright upside.

01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Nii is a tall athletic 1B in the 2023 class out of Woodland Hills, CA. His 6’2/175 frame presents a strong target for his defenders with room to add. In the field, has the wingspan to generate outs on tough throws across the diamond. He moves well (7.03 60 yd) for a 1B and can cover the line and 4-hole. Solid actions coming off the bag and positioning himself on feeds to 2B. Can play lower to the ground with further hip mobility. His arm is accurate and can provide carry (80 velo). At the plate, he has a squared athletic base and gets into his load with fluid actions. Has hand separation prior to contact. His body stays centered at contact and his on-plane barrel path promotes load line drive production (90 exit velo). With two years of development, Nii can become a power prospect at the plate and an elite defender around the bag. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

At the plate, he has improved his hitting abilities, now showing solid potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event he was 5 for 15 with a 2B. At 1B, he continues to shine as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean, he presents well out front, and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
