10/10/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Niko is a shortstop in the graduating class of 2022. He shows off a physical and athletic frame that still has room to fill out with continued development. He is a very athletic kid that plays the game hard and with a great attitude. At SS, he shows off a rocket arm and continues to impress with his athletic ability. Starts with an active prep step and continues his active feet throughout the fielding process. Does a good job fielding the ball out front and shows very soft hands. This right-handed hitter starts in a comfortable and athletic stance. Shows a good load and stride that allows him to hit from a constant launch position. Showed aggressive actions at the plate and the intent to do damage. Barreled 9/12 balls in BP. Niko is a very talented player that continues to show improvement.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Niko continues to show as a prospect on the diamond and shined during his time at the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap to gap pop. A 2022 grad with upside, this smooth fielding SS has what it takes to play at a high level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Niko shined at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At 2B, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft/clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally (6.98 60 time) and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B and 3 BB.

12/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Pittsburgh, PA Niko is an athletic SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Niko shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Niko can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. Overall, Niko is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/07/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18) Niko is a SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Niko is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Niko is a coachable SS prospect who showed well during the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. In the field, Niko takes a good first step and shows active footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Niko shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-67mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 64mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Niko is a talented prospect who should find success going into his sophomore season.

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Niko is a coachable MIF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Niko takes a good first step and shows active footwork. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and strong through his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Niko improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Niko can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. With three more years to develop, Niko has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Niko is an athletic and hard-working 2022 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Niko starts in a crouched stance, and creates backside rotation with his lower half. He consistently barrels the ball and uses the middle part of the field. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact. Niko will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/07/2018 - College PREP - Washington, PA Niko is a 2022 SS prospect who has a high baseball IQ. He can pick it at second, showing range to both sides and the ability to be a dependable DP partner. He moves his feet well to gain ground on the ball and extend his range. His backhand is clean and smooth as he works through with momentum to make accurate throws. At the plate, he shows an aggressive approach, looking to drive the ball. He loads to a power position and uses a strong lower half to launch a balanced swing through the zone to barrel the ball and spray hit to all fields. Leveling out his swing path will lead to more line drives and base hits. Niko is an intriguing prospect we want to watch continue his development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
