12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Nikolas is a coachable 3B/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the West Coast Winter Classic. At 3B, Nikolas shows active footwork and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Behind the plate, Nikolas sits in a relaxed stance and tracks the ball into his glove well. He makes a two-handed exchange and shows good footwork, keeping his throws accurate through the 2B bag. He is efficient moving to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is controlled getting into a small load and remains centered in his lower half. His hips and hands work well together as he produces consistent contact and line drives. Overall, Nikolas is a talented prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Nikolas is a young, 2-way player with a strong frame. At 3rd base, Nikolas has a presentable glove, efficient footwork, and he centers the ball well. He fields low and athletically, his exchange is clean, and he delivers the ball with momentum and accuracy across the diamond. Behind the plate, Nikolas has fluid footwork, he sticks the ball well, and his chest is soft when blocking. He gains some ground and throws with momentum to 2nd base. At the plate, Nikolas has a tall/open stance, a square stride, and he loads well. He swings aggressively, his barrel is direct, and he has solid pop to the pull side. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
