12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Niles is an athletic 5ft 10/155 SS/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows active feet and agile movements. Has plus range and explosiveness with 6.65 speed. Stays square to the baseball and shows excellent glove presentation. Can redirect the ball with quick and clean actions. Gains a loose arm at 82 velo that is accurate to his targets. Working to stay low and in his legs on his feeds and turns around the bag will be a key element as he advances his game. On the mound, scouts love his make-up and trust his ability to pound the zone. His FB sat 76-77 with run. His CB shaped 11-5 with late sharp break ant 64-6. His CH has depth at 68-9. At the plate, he shows excellent balance and stays in his legs. His timing is smooth and creates a level path for line drive production to all fields. Overall, scouts loves his skills and speed and feel he is a follow in the 2025 class.

11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Niles is a strong and athletic RHP/SS in the 2025 class. In the field, his feet work well and shows positive range. He centers his body to the baseball and has solid glove presentation. Displays a quick release and arm works at 81 velo that is accurate. Working to sink his hips will allow him to stay in his legs. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high 3 qtr. slot and pounds the zone with all of his pitches. His FB sat 76-8 with arm side run. His CB shaped 11-5 with late tight break at 62-3. His change was down in the zone with deception at 68-9. At the plate, he swings with intent and stays in the middle of the field. Likes to stay inside the baseball with a short and direct bat path. Overall, Niles is a solid 2025 prospect and looks to have a big year on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
