07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2
Nino was an intangible sound player with great energy and a coachable mindset. Defensively at 2B, he worked around the baseball with efficient feet and good body control to field with a sure glove. He tracked the ball to the mitt and worked on getting his knees bent more consistently to get the glove far out in front. Offensively, he had a soft stride and showed good balance in his stance. He tracked the ball to contact and worked to drive with his lower half to boost bat speed. On the hill, he threw his FB, 9/3 CB, and CH, down in the zone. He gathered over the rubber and showed some feel for his stuff. All in all - Christopher needs to continue strengthening his body and working on drills at home for improved play ability.
07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City
Nino continues to improve his game entirely each time out with the factory. He is still versatile in the infield and as a RHP. On the mound, Nino controls his pitches well, keeps his eyes down on his target and works with a very good tempo. He needs to slow down his body a bit to control his head when throwing and to build confidence mixing his pitches. Defensively, Nino makes the routine plays and has no issue hustling to get to any ball he can but can improve his footwork and his arm strength with a long toss program. At the plate, Nino battles in each of his ABs, works with good rhythm and keeps his hands loaded before he goes directly to the ball. If he loaded sooner he would be able to stay centered and use the whole field to his advantage. A great kid who competes and works hard each pitch, very coachable and continues to get better.
03/16/2014 - National Tryout - Kenosha, WI
Christopher continues to work hard on his game. On the bump, he works hard to get on top of his pitches and work downhill toward the dish. He shows good rhythm and maintains smooth tempo working at his pace. With the stick, he displays a closed setup with his hands back in a loaded position. He connects with and gets extension through the ball. Working on ending square when he swings the bat will help to avoid cutting himself off. At SS, Nino communicates well and takes charge in the INF. He can turn the DP quickly as he fires accurate throws toward 1B. Getting on a speed/agility program will help to improve footwork and increase lateral range. Only a 2019 - Christopher has a lot of time to continue and develop his skill-set.
07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14)
In Christopher's latest outing with Baseball Factory, he showed improvements to every aspect of his game. Offensively, he has a smooth load, excellent rhythm, and good bat control. Being lighter on his front foot will allow for balance throughout his swing and more lower half use. At short, he works through the ball with sure hands and is a confident defender. On the mound, he fills up the zone with his fastball then keeps hitters off-balance with his CB that has 11/5 shape. He has loose arm action, good front side extension, and a repeatable delivery with good tempo. In all, Nino projects well as a MIF and should develop into a sound high school player.
03/09/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Kenosha, WI
Nino is a 2-way player with average size. At SS, Nino has sure hands, playable feet, and he takes good angles to the ball. He has good pre-pitch actions, makes plays, and throws with consistency across the diamond. On the hill, Nino has a smooth delivery, level shoulders, and a loose arm action. At the plate, Nino has a tall set-up, good balance, and a short swing. His swing is level, he makes consistent contact, and he stays behind the ball well. Abilities can improve if Nino can work on the following.
Defense
1. Earlier glove
2. Field out front
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Keep arm speed consistent
2. Still head
Offense
1. More lower 1/2
