12/06/2015 - National Tryout Plus - McCook (Chicago), IL
Taylor improved three of his major measurables since we last saw him. His raw velocity and bat exit velocity both increased by 5 mph, up to 81 and 74 mph respectively. His 60 yard dash also improved slightly, down from 8.00 to 7.97. Defensively, he reached a good position to react to the ball off the bat, and moved his feet well to reach the spot to play the ball. He played through the ball well to generate some momentum to the target, and made accurate throws across the infield. His double play feeds and overall quickness have room for improvement, and could point towards a move to 3B. At the plate, he reached a solid hitting position following his pre-pitch action, and did a good job of rotating his core through contact. His route is a little long, with a move out and around the ball. Overall, a solid player that has made progress with his tools and skills.
