Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

01/20/2014 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Noah continues to show well. On the mound, this RHP has a heavy fastball cracking the mitt at 84-85 mph. His drives off the rubber, working in-line toward the dish. Breaking ball shows nasty break as it compliments his FB well. With having such a great arm, Noah also shows his strengths in the OF. He shows his athleticism and strong arm firing accurate throws to any bag. At the plate, he lets the ball travel into the zone and hits it where it's pitched. He utilizes the whole field, driving the ball on a line. Noah has a high ceiling and has a bright future in the game.

10/16/2013 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Noah is an athletic OF/RHP that will graduate in 2015 and shows solid abilities at both positions. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.83 60 time. He ran a 6.88 for us last month as well, so his speed is definitely legitimate. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat, takes proper first steps, and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate, Arni continues to shine through an open / athletic setup with balance with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop through an aggressive approach. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 3B. Once on base, he utilizes his foot speed to get around bases as he will take the extra base. On the mound, delivery is outstanding, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 82-84 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with tight spin and late break. He throws a cutter and maintains arm speed, showing a feel for with late action. Off speed pitches are quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control are superior as well as he throws strikes with all his pitches to both sides of the plate and changes speeds well. He had 4 quality innings at the event and has a solid presence on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and has a great attitude. With 2 years to further develop, Noah has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
