Official Scouting Report

  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Noah continues to show as a RHP and at 1B for the first time at the event. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to play through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/15/2017 - College PREP - Birmingham, AL Noah is a tall, lean LHP who will graduate in 2018. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for the pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well. He comes through with his lower half and sprays the ball to all fields. Noah can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride and by getting into his load sooner. Overall, Noah is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
