06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Noah continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works to square ball up and makes the routine plays. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength and sprays the ball to all fields. At the event he was 5 for 9 with a 2B. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball showed a range of 75-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

04/29/2018 - College PREP - Charlottesville, VA Noah is a lean, athletic 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.35. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 72-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his split finger with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Noah has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
